Geek Chic

When one thinks of penny loafers, the word 'stylish' is not usually associated with it. This outfit takes penny loafers to a new, stylish level. (They have come a long way since the days I wore them in middle school). Keep the outfit feminine with a chiffon blouse that has a bow detail at the neck. The gold rope belt also gives the outfit a bit of sparkle, keeping the outfit from becoming too dowdy. (Remove the belt that comes with the pants...too many bows can be a little too frilly). I love the plum structured tote. It is pretty and functional. (Bring your laptop/netbook and work back and forth from the office). And of course, accessorize with jewelry!

Can't believe it has been 7 months...

Okay, suddenly it has been seven months since my last post....How did that happen? My only guess is that during the past nine months of being pregnant with my second baby, my mind has been completely unfocused. I remember that happening with my first pregnancy...I found out I was expecting and suddenly I could no longer concentrate on anything. Well, the same thing happened this time too! Of course my two year old son now takes up most of my free time but I also teach dance which pretty much takes up my full brain capacity. So I pretty much have no time for anything and my brain is unable to do anything but come up with dance combinations. (No complaints there, I love my job)!

Well, HOPEFULLY, I will be able to update my blog more often. Of course I must be crazy to think that that will happen with an infant and two year old. I do have to say that reaching the end of my pregnancy, I suddenly feel like I am waking up from a very long nap. I feel like suddenly my brain can focus on things and I am making time for my hobbies once again...sewing and fashion.

Now with that said, I was at Target yesterday with my mom shopping (for baby stuff, course), when my mom stopped in the clothing section. This is a very foreign feeling to me. In the past nine months, I have just simply walked by the clothing section. My eyes of course have been pulled in that direction but what was the point? Well, to make a long story short, (I guess this hasn't really been that short), I stumbled upon this denim shirt.
$22.99 at Target

Finally! I have been looking for a shirt just like this for the past two years. Every single time I stumble upon one in a store they either don't have my size or the shirt is the wrong color. Of course I find one when my belly is as large as a watermelon. I had to just throw it over my shoulders and hope for the best that it would fit in a few weeks.

I can't wait to wear this shirt with my dark LOFT skinny jean leggings and boots. Of course, if I am wearing skinny jeans, I may need to wait just a little while before I can squeeze into them...
