Keeping It Casual - 21 (Link-up)

Since today is the last day of the month, I thought I would re-cap my top three casual looks from when I first started this link-up.

I think all three of these looks pretty much sum up my style. First of all, I love girly, feminine looks so that is why I chose the lace shorts outfit. Secondly, I love black and it is usually my go-to color when I can't figure out what I want to wear. And lastly, jumpsuits are just awesome so I couldn't leave this one out!

I would love for you all to meet my newest sponsor, Candida from Merch Maven. She lives in Oregon and is a clothes fanatic/shoe hoarder. Basically a girl after my own heart. What I love about her style is that you won't see it replicated in the blog world. She can take super feminine pieces and pair them with a cool/edgy piece that just works every single time. See for yourselves!

I love this fun, quirky t-shirt and love even more that she paired it with an animal print skirt.

A pretty lace dress with animal print oxfords, and denim shorts with gorgeous heels? Gets my vote every single time! Make sure you stop by her blog and say hello!

For the Girls

It's been a long time since I have gone out on a girls' night or even a girls' lunch. Here are a few looks that I think would be ideal for either type of get-together.

girlsnight

All of the pieces in this set are versatile, which I think is important in anything that I buy. The clear bag is such a fun piece and can be worn day or night. Your make-up and phone will look so cute peeking out through the clear windows of this bag. The top can easily be worn with jeans, leather pants, and would be fun with another pattern, like stripes. I love the asymmetric hem of the skirt and think it would be fun with a chunky over-sized sweater when the weather starts to cool down. And those heels! I would wear them every single day with my cuffed jeans.

girlslunch

There are times when I love to dress up and wear skirts, but sometimes you just want to keep it simple, especially for a girls' lunch. I love a big roomy tote that I can throw a bunch of stuff in (like a water bottle) if we decide to go shopping afterward.

What is your favorite thing to wear for girls' night or a girls' lunch?

Birthday

Francesca's blazer (similar), Club L top via ASOS, F21 shorts (similar), bracelets, and earrings, Worthington wedges via JCP, Steve Madden clutch, Lilac Bijoux c/o necklace (here)

Saturday my husband and I went out to our favorite restaurant to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. Since we got married so close to my birthday, we usually roll both celebrations into one. I can't believe that 1) I am thirty-three today, and 2) we have been married for six years.

I had a hard time picking something to wear. It was sort of last minute (which is normally terrible for me when I'm trying to decide what to wear), and 25% of my wardrobe has already been eliminated. No more pencil skirts, and a few pairs of pants are already too tight. Thank goodness for the ASOS maternity section. I've picked out a couple of super cute things and they are on their way as we speak. If any of you ladies are expecting, you have to check out their maternity section. They really have the cutest stuff!

I'm loving my new Lilac Bijoux necklace too. It was the perfect piece to dress up this simple look. I hope you all have a great day!

Exciting News

So, I thought I would finally share with you all what has been happening lately. I'm so excited to announce that I will be having another baby!

I haven't been feeling all that great the past couple of weeks so that is why I have had a hard time reading all of your blogs. I've had pretty much all of the pregnancy symptoms that you can think of, including bad headaches (a new one for me). My husband has been pretty much a solo parent as I lie on the couch feeling terrible. I've also had to teach a summer intensive this week so that has been pretty draining as well.

Hopefully I can kick this first trimester stuff soon and have more energy in the next week or so. So, be forgiving if I can't get an outfit post done here and there. It's very hard to do when all you want to do is stay in bed!

With all of that said, I'm so excited to welcome another life into this world. I already have two sweet little children but I can't wait to see the personality that this new baby has! Have a great weekend!

Keeping It Casual - 20 (Link Up)

Love Culture tee, shorts via JCP, BCBGeneration flats via Ross, F21 bracelet, earrings, and sunglasses, Lilac
Bijoux c/o necklace, hat via Target

I'm definitely keeping it super casual for this post. On Sunday, my hubby, boys, and I went out for our traditional ice cream run. I'm definitely not a shorts and sneakers kind of gal so I'm always trying to dress up my outfits (even ripped denim shorts) in some way. These cute bow flats, a fun necklace, and my floppy hat did just the trick.

Little Gray Tee

I'm trying to get better about using basic t-shirts in my wardrobe. In fact, three of my outfit posts this week all use just a basic white tee. This post is concentrating on different ways to style a gray t-shirt. I still have yet to add one to my wardrobe but just might have to soon!

If skirts and heels aren't your preference with a t-shirt, try a cute pair of shorts with a pattern. All you need is a statement necklace and some fun flat sandals to keep this casual outfit looking cute.

Casual Color

Love Culture tee, Gap blazer, Seven jeans, ShoeDazzle heels c/o, Michael Kors bag, River Island sunglasses,
Classy With a Kick c/o necklace (here)

Here is an outfit with color, as I promised last week. After two weeks of nothing but black and white outfits, it was high time to throw in one with some color. Jeans are one of my favorite, easy pieces to wear. They really are the best thing on those days when you feel lazy. Just throw on some fun heels, a blazer, and bright necklace and you can fool people into thinking that you aren't that lazy.

Have a great day!

Loving Black and White

(Read posts here and here)

Well, since the past two weeks have been nothing but black and white around here, I thought I would post all of those looks together, plus a few extra old ones. These are only a few of the black and white looks that I have worn on this blog. Stay tuned for some color next week. I promise!

I've been a little out of it for the past week or so. I came down with probably the worst cold of my life (still recovering) and I have been a little frantic this week trying to choreograph a new dance for a dance intensive next week. I had one all planned out (minus the ending) and suddenly hated the whole thing. So on Monday, I scoured through my iPod looking for new inspiration. I found a song (a six minute one... why do I do these things to myself?) and am happy to say that I only have a few more eight counts and I'm done. Whew. Have a great weekend everyone!

Keeping It Casual - 19 (Link-up)

Love Culture t-shirt and pants, bag via Ross, Zara flats

I stumbled upon a store called Love Culture when I was in Michigan this summer. It reminded me of Forever 21: trendy pieces for good prices. I scored this basic t-shirt for only $7. Do you know how long I have searched for a v-neck t-shirt that wasn't too low or the neckline too wide? I was so excited I got one in white as well.

One of my sponsors, Susan, over at Charming Lucy is the sweetest gal you will meet. She blogs about fashion, beauty, her latest Etsy finds, and her life. She keeps it real in her posts and has the biggest heart you will find.

Susan recently felt the need to start something new and connect with other women. She has spent time managing a business from home and raising her daughter. Now, like probably most of you (and me), she has taken the plunge into the blog world. She puts together cute outfits (see above), has hosted several giveaways so far, has introduced her readers to Etsy store owners (I'm loving this shop and this shop), and has tackled a DIY that turned out so cute (here) that I'm begging her to come do the same one at my house. I hope you will stop by her blog and say hello!

Perfect Prints

Prints are such a fun way to make an outfit more exciting. You can go bold and mix two prints together for a big impact, or keep it simple and pair a print with a solid color. I've put two looks together that embody these two examples perfectly. Which one would you be more likely to wear?

Uniform

Love Culture t-shirt, Wallis c/o blazer, Seven jeans, ShoeDazzle heels, Aldo clutch, handmade (by my aunt) necklace

On any given day, this would definitely be considered my 'uniform.' A pair of heels, blazer, and over-sized sunglasses are the easiest way to dress up a basic jeans and t-shirt combination.

If you are wondering what I am doing this week, well, I'm frantically trying to choreograph a dance for next week's summer intensive. I had one 3/4th finished but can't finish it for the life of me. I'm having the hardest time even finding a song that "speaks" to me too. Wish me luck. I need it.

Simple Stripes

Sheinside blouse c/o (here), A.N.A jeans via JCP, ShoeDazzle heels, Lazzaro bag

I realize that all of my outfit posts this week have been black and white. I seem to go through phases with wearing black and white. I'll wear the two together for a few weeks and then switch to bright, bold colors. This phase might last a little longer, however. I have a couple more black and white looks planned. Nothing wrong with that.

Don't forget to enter my group giveaway here. Have a great weekend!
